Hi! Welcome to the blogging world of me, Bec. Thanks for dropping by and seeing what I get up to. I live in a beachside suburb of Sydney and enjoy a spot of sewing. I have a wee cat called Maisie who is my favourite sewing buddy, and is all round awesome sauce. When I am not sewing, I am either in the ocean, enjoying the delights of gin with friends, or hitting up the cinema. I am also into all things 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s. I should also mention that I work full time in finance so unfortunately my sewing time is limited.
I’ve been crafty my whole life. I remember as a little girl making boxes out of paddle pop sticks, and the time I promoted myself to costumer designer for a play I did in my first year of high school and sewed all the actors outfits. Anything that could be made and re-made, I did. So it made sense, that when I got my hands on my mother’s sewing machine at the age of 13, I would never look back. I have since upgrasded from Mum's machine and bought myself a Bernina 550QE in 2015. I got her a sidekick in 2000 – a Janome overlocker.
I’m fortunate to have a brilliant friend who is also a mean photographer to take my blog photos in different locations all around Sydney.
I run a little Etsy store where I sell mainly cushions and quilts I have handmade and I set up shop occasionally at local markets.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog and I hope it inspires you to do a little more creating.
